RNLI

The RNLI and the Dartmouth Lifeboat (www.dartlifeboat.org.uk) play an important and active role in keeping the local waters safe for yachtsmen, fisherman and swimmers. Throughout the year, the lifeboat crew are busy with 'shouts' and are very well supported by the local community at large.

The new man in charge at Dartmouth’s RNLI has been telling us what it’s like to deal with 2am call-outs, stranded whales and floating sheep. Mark took over as operations manager in April and admits the job isn’t as straightforward as he expected! Read more

Dartmouth’s RNLI Visitor Centre has been open for six months and so far over 13,000 people have walked through the door and they’ve raised £8,000 for the charity. The Centre has a team of 30 merry volunteers one of whom is Harry Escott. Read more
