The Guardhouse Café
The guardhouse, completed in 1802, was used by the troops defending the fortress. We serve a range of local hot and cold food, fairtrade coffee, Teapigs tea, alcoholic and soft drinks – and of course the famous Guardhouse Cream Teas!

A very traditional pub with a stone floor, a large and splendid fireplace, wooden beams, a tunnel somewhere underneath the floor which went down to the nearby beach and, some say, a ghost.
