National Trust Shop
On Saturday 1st October the National Trust shop in Dartmouth closed its doors to undertake an extensive and exciting refurbishment. After 15 years of continuity, new investment has been placed in the Dartmouth National Trust shop, to refresh and rejuvenate. On Friday 21 October the new and improved shop will be opening with an exciting and fresh faced refurbishment designed to reflect the beauty of the local area, and from mid-November will be selling Christmas gifts and decorations.
By highlighting aspects of surrounding beauty, the fittings and fixtures of the shop will place an emphasis on locally inspired designs. Out is the traditional style, in its place are nautically inspired shelving units, trestle tables, and shades of the ocean. The local inspiration also includes the range of products for sale, with a wide variety of locally produced goods as well as a fresh range of National Trust branded goodies.
The re-opening coincides with exciting events such as a book signing with Emma Ball on Saturday 22 October. Emma will be signing copies of ‘Albert and the Slipper Limpets’, a story illustrated with her beautiful full colour images. Emma’s successful coastal range will also be available for sale in the shop.
As a hub of information for the rest of the English Riviera portfolio, the Dartmouth shop team can inform about lovely places to visit locally such as Greenway, Coleton Fishacre, Compton Castle and Bradley.
They will be available to answer queries on anything from opening times to upcoming events, and liaise closely with local companies such as Greenway Ferries to ensure that everyone is kept up to date. National Trust memberships will also be available in the shop, and the team will be on hand and happy to advise.
Although new and improved, the Dartmouth shop will still be full of familiar faces. Lizzie Callan and her team will be returning to work, and are excited and proud to be taking the shop forwards with this new image. They are confident that the emphasis on the local environment in the style of the shop and the range of products available will ensure that the Dartmouth National Trust shop will play an important part in the local community.
Come along to the official opening, on Friday 21 October at 11am – and bring your purse with you!
