Message from the Head Teacher:
King Edward VI Community College, or KEVICC as we are popularly known, has a beautiful campus, a talented team of staff, an innovative curriculum, supportive parents and good relationships both within the College and with the local community.
Here, we bring learning to life and we take it seriously. Our energy is infectious - this is a place where every student can catch the learning ‘bug’ for life, and discover that learning is challenging, hard work and risky, but creative, emotional, fun and rewarding too.
We cultivate young people who can live happy and effective lives, with emotional intelligence and a dynamic, ‘can-do’ attitude; a place where students discover and realise their talents and ambitions.
We have high expectations; our focus on student achievement and continuous improvement drives our work every day. Our exam results are amongst the best in Devon, both at GCSE and A Level and we also have outstanding success with special needs students.
We are proud to be a Performing Arts College, to have an exciting and innovative Year 7 curriculum and a thriving Sixth Form offering a wide range of courses including the International Baccalaureate. We are regarded as one of the best post-16 providers in Devon; every year our students gain places at the best universities. We have also been awarded the International Schools Award, with European links in France, Germany and Spain, and links further afield in Kolkata.
I am privileged to be the Principal of KEVICC. I shall drive the continuous improvement of the College to ensure that:
- our students have stimulating and inspiring experiences in which to explore learning
- our students have opportunities to discover their interests, strengths and aspirations
- our students have high quality teaching, guidance and support to achieve their very best.
