London Calling - A view from Stags
Earlier in June, the Stags Dartmouth office was pleased to host Bob Bickersteth (pictured right with Stuart Millard), the manager of the London Office who travelled from the big smoke to give his perspective on the property market and its relationship to London. Bob was able to have in depth discussions with Stags vendors and prospective clients in order to provide insight in to the recent buying trends in London and how that might affect their potential sale in the South Hams.
As Bob commented:
“With the property market featuring often in the news bulletins of late we have experienced quite the turbulent market in London, seeing prices in certain areas race ahead of expectations. However indications are that the market has peaked and that as of now is near to frozen in London. Moreover, the media attention on property prices emanating from London won’t necessarily filter down to South Devon and vendors need to remain realistic.
It is not all doom and gloom though! The market across the South West can definitely reap benefit from the recent fluctuations in London and the knock on effect could be that those lucky enough to profit in London are looking to invest in the South Hams. So if you are keen to sell your property in the coming months, it is key to ensure that your property is priced sensibly in order to attract those buyers!”
