Kingswear House short-listed for National Award

The judges from Homebuilding & Renovating magazine have announced that the Inverdart Boathouse in Kingswear is the The Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2013 Overall Winner.

Boring!

Why couldn't they have built something more suited to the 21st Century? Planning rules probably but as a result all they have built is a copy of something from the past and it will always look like a copy. My own house, also in the South Hams suffers from the same outdated planning concepts. Originally an old barn but extended the new part is just a faux copy of an old barn - and looks it!
