Dartmouth Yacht Club - for Kayaking Sailing and Motor Boating
If you are interested in kayaking or canoeing in Dartmouth then you should check out what this local club can offer you. We are the Dartmouth Yacht Club, you find us opposite Café Alf Resco in Lower Street. We also keep a collection of boats in Coronation Park.
For non-members:
We can take you out on a taster session for £25, these are great fun. These paddles last about 3 hours and are suitable for people here on holiday. They make fun outings for families and couples. Perhaps you will want to take up this sport after.
Why not Join:
As a member you have lots of opportunities to get on the river.
You can take out our sit on top kayaks for instance (free for members) without an instructor. We have a whole fleet of them. Fantastic for families and useful also for second home owners too. Members can join our regular club paddles and learn how to master sit in kayaks and sea kayaks. We have 14 sit on top kayaks, 8 sea kayaks 2 canadian canoes and 20 general purpose kayaks. Once competent you can use those on your own as well (free for members).
Annual membership costs are
£67 single adult
£95 couple
£104 family (2016 rates)
Your membership makes you a full member of the yacht Club, not just its kayaking section. This means you can use the other boats the club owns as well. This includes two motor boats, a fleet of topper dinghies, one wayfarer dinghy and one laser dinghy. Joining is easy, no proposers and seconders are required, you just fill in a form online.
In fact for £67 you are buying access to over fifty boats. The only ones you pay for when you use them are the motor boats - and they cost £15/day inc fuel.
