Dartmouth Players
The town’s community drama group since 1929. A friendly and highly innovative group often performing original work ranging from serious drama, historical drama, comedy, musical theatre and pantomime. They welcome new friends, even if you have no theatre experience and there is a lot of backstage/production work to do.
Dartmouth Players was formed in October 1929 by Cyril Maude, an ex professional light comedy actor/manager who had retired to Dartmouth after a stage career spanning 42 years. Over the next 82 years, more than 220 productions have entertained Dartmouth audiences in a number of different locations. For a list of their recent productions click here.
Their main current performance space is the Flavel Theatre, Dartmouth, although they occasionally perform elsewhere, such as local churches. They are a non profit making organisation with full visibility of finances through AGM's and audited accounts, published to their members.
They have a costume/props store plus rehearsal space at the Flavel Church, Dartmouth. Social events are occasionally organised throughout the year.
