We are a local charity committed to helping those in need, the elderly and the vulnerable in Dartmouth and the surrounding villages such as Dittisham, Stoke Fleming, Blackawton and Strete.
Dartmouth Caring started 28 years ago, initially helping with transport to the local surgery and hospitals. It’s come a long way since!
We still help with transport to medical appointments but we also run a number of support groups – Lunch Clubs, Memory Cafes, Visually Impaired Club, Young Carers and more.
Most of our work is now one-on-one help for the elderly and vulnerable. One-on-one care takes many forms: It can be helping in the return from hospital, recovering from moments of crisis, counselling, or sorting out administrative or financial burdens.
We liaise closely with the medical and care services to ensure we help people remain independent in times of need.
We are funded by donations.
Registered Charity: 900226. Further details available on the Charities Commission together with our latest Annual Report.
