Kingswear
View of Kingswear from Dartmouth
Kingswear is situated across the River Dart (often known as the 'sunny side') from Dartmouth. It's most prominent feature is the privately owned Kingswear Castle, a 15th century artillery tower located in the village outskirts, built to defend Dartmouth Harbour. The village itself is home to several 19th century villas that make use of the village's panoramic views of Dartmouth Harbour and the River Dart which can be reached via Kingswear's three ferries (Lower Ferry, Passenger Ferry and Higher Ferry).
The village has a primary school (Kingswear Community Primary School), Post Office (by the Lower Ferry) and being situated on the South West Coast Path and the River Dart it is well located for keen walkers and waterborn enthusiasts.
