Cayle Royce
Trish Thomas writes: "Over the next few weeks, I shall be asking some local people to pose for a photograph wearing leather Help for Heroes wristbands. I shall then print these, and at the exhibition they will be displayed and on sale. All proceeds will go towards the charity Help for Heroes. As it is a fundraising event officially supported by the charity, I will also have a collecting tin (all donations very welcome!)
It is intended as a fun exhibition, with a very serious aim. I have been an official stockist of Help for Heroes merchandise for some time, so the leather wristbands will be available for sale. Over the last two years I have raised many hundreds of pounds through the sale of the wristbands, and hope to continue to do so for some time to come.
This is an issue about which I feel strongly. I trained as a physiotherapist, so I have a lot of experience in rehab, including amputees. Care has advanced enormously since I worked as a physio, but the need is ever greater. It is not enough to rebuild physical strength, a lot of other support is necessary, both for the injured and their families. Charities like Help for Heroes play a huge part in providing what is needed – often expensive and time-consuming, but those injured on active service are fighting for our country, so we owe it to them to help when they need it.
I would very much like to thank Cayle, my star model, for posing beautifully for me, without hesitation. He made time to do this, between his exciting adventures, as he continues on his own road to recovery. Cayle, you are an inspiration!"
