Join the crew for a free guided tour on board the Heritage Sailing Trawler, Vigilance of Brixham. Registered as a National Historic Ship, the 92-year-old Vigilance is one of the last of her kind built in Brixham. Learn all about her varied history, from her early days fishing, her wartime use and later as private yacht, sail training vessel and survey vessel. Operated entirely by volunteers, Vigilance is now conserved and sailed for the benefit of the Brixham community and visitors to Torbay. We are supported by "The Friends of the Vigilance", Registered Charity no.1168570, who are organising this event . On the day, donations to the Friends will be welcome .
As part of England's Seafood FEAST, from 1200 to 1400, we will be serving Mussels in Vigilance Ale, a dish created by local celebrity chef Mitch Tonks to celebrate the recent opening of our new Galley. During this period, access to Vigilance will be restricted to those dining with us. The price of the meal is £7.50 per head. Places are limited, so please prebook well in advance direct with the Vigilance team.
