Have you ever longingly watched people having fun out on the water and wanted to join in? Well, now is your opportunity. From rowing boats and paddle boards to motor boats and racing yachts head down to the Royal Dart Yacht Club from 5th - 7th May to Try Sailing on the Dart and take part in this free national event.
A special ferry service will run from Dartmouth to the RDYC club all weekend, when the club will be open to everyone, from 10am until 10pm so no one has to miss out on the action. The RDYC has joined with the RYA to offer cruising yachts and racing yachts, with the opportunity to crew in a race out in Start Bay; classic yachts and motor boats; ribs and dinghies; rowing boats, courtesy of Kingswear Rowing club; paddle boards and Dart Sailability.
The RNLI will be on hand to keep an eye out and answer questions, so don’t worry if you have no experience on the water; you’re in safe hands! If that all sounds a bit too active for you or you fancy taking a break between activities, then come on down to the club to enjoy the view from the terrace over a drink or a meal and watch the fun on the water.
Having whetted your appetite for the water, why not follow up the weekend by joining in on the Waterborne Treasure Hunt on Sunday 20th May.
Full details of all the events can be found on the RDYC website, royaldart.co.uk. or call the yacht club on 01803 752496.
