The Galloping Maestro, aka Ian Bloomfield and friends, return to the Dartmouth Food Festival this year to serve up an evening’s entertainment of fine dining and even finer singing at the Flavel.
Brought up in Dartmouth, Ian studied at Trinity College of Music then toured in Holland performing in many grand operas. He joined ENO and sang with them for five years, performing in over forty productions. After a brief spell in the ROH Chorus he moved to the West End, appearing in shows such as ‘Cats’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’. Ian then started busking in Covent Garden and formed an opera company called ‘Opera on the Run’. Ian has written and directed many operas and belted out Nessun Dorma up and down the length of the country as a singing waiter.
Now combining his operatic, comedic and culinary skills the Maestro will demonstrate Mediterranean cuisine whilst singing great operatic arias (and also downing a glass of his favourite Chianti).
The Maestro and friends encourage you to sample bowls of Puccini and spoonfuls of Verdi in this cabaret of culinary chaos at the Flavel on Saturday 20th October at 7.30.
Tickets available from the Flavel Box Office for £15, call 01803 839530 or online at www.theflavel.org.uk
