Mary Rose was built between 1509 and 1511 and was a highly successful warship until she capsized and sank in the Solent in July 1545.
In 1982, after many years of painstaking search and investigation, she was recovered from the sea bed with unprecedented interest from the public. Retired Operations Director, Nigel Kelland, who worked on the Mary Rose project for many years, will present a fascinating insight into the complex operation to recover this National Treasure, followed by a Q&A.
Nigel will share his experiences as a marine geophysicist overseeing the underwater surveys which enabled this successful salvage mission.
