Kite - The Wrong Crowd Trailer
Inspired by the world of indoor-kite flying and stories such as The Snowman and The Red Balloon, Kite is a play without words, with originally composed music, dance, puppetry and of coure, kites. Made at and supported by Dartington Arts, in association with Soho Theatre.
Stuck in her Grandma’s obsessively tidy flat, a recently orphaned girl discovers a kite which comes to life and takes her on a wild adventure. Little does she know that Grandma has her own brand of magic and the wind will bring them together in ways they never would have imagined.
From acclaimed theatre company The Wrong Crowd, creators of inventive, playful and compelling new theatre (Snow White and the Happy Ever After Beauty Salon, Swanhunter, Hag, The Girl with the Iron Claws), Kite is for adults and kids aged 7+.
A poignant love-song to the wind, freedom and the joy of play. After each performance, audiences will be invited to meet the cast, kite and puppets to find out how the actors animate the puppets and props.
Supported by Arts Council England and Garfield Weston Foundation.
