Dittisham Regatta on the River Dart is a fun, all-day, family friendly event held on Saturday 10th August. The Regatta starts at 11am. There are rowing and sailing races, stalls on the Quay including refreshments and cakes, traditional games and face painting, and a barbecue on the beach. There is a children’s crabbing competition on the pontoon.
There will be an old gaffers sail-by during the afternoon. Of course there is the Ferry Boat Inn and the Anchorstone Café. The prize giving is at about 5pm followed by ‘after the event’ live music in the evening on the Quay or inside the FBI if the weather is unforgiving.
If you’re coming from outside the village you can come by river or by road. There are passenger ferries from Dartmouth or Greenway. There are car parks on the Ham, on the Level and also an overflow car park in the Football Club on Riverside Road all at £5 all day.
To enter rowing races you must fill in the form in the Regatta Programme and hand into the Red Lion by the specified time. Programme price £1 available from the Ferry Boat Inn, Red Lion Inn or Sportsman’s Arms about two weeks before the event.
For the under 11’s rowing and Plum Challenge obstacle course register on the day.
Children’s souvenir t-shirts will be available as usual. More up to date information is available on the Dittisham Regatta Facebook page.
All proceeds are used as running expenses for the Regatta and for charity. This year the Regatta has funded the purchase of a defibrillator to be situated outside the Ferry Boat Inn.
