DARTINGTON goes GAGA / Dance the Estate is a one-day festival offering a chance to experience dance through the GAGA approach with two exciting practitioners: a first time for Devon.
nspired by the rich history of experimentation in dance at Dartington Hall this unique event is brought to you by two Dartington College of Art Choreography graduates Minou Tsambika Polleros & Kerstin Möller in association with Dartington Arts and Dance in Devon and supported by Arts Council England and Erasmus +.
Together we bring an exceptional movement training experience to the South West region.The day provides unique professional development for professional dance artists and dance students. There will also be an inclusive workshop open to everyone, with or without dance experience.
Teachers:
Chisato Ohno:Is a Gaga teacher & lecturer at London Contemporary Dance School. After graduating from Central School of Ballet in 1994, Chisato joined Netherlands Dans Theater 2 where she performed works by Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot, Gideon Obarzanek and many others. She continued to the Batsheva Dance Company where over seven years she took part in new creations and performed many works of Ohad Naharin. Chisato will lead a professional Gaga/dancers’ class, a Gaga based movement research as well as a Gaga/People’s class in the afternoon.
Eldad Ben Sasson:Born and raised in Israel, after his graduation from the Bat-Dor School of Dance, is an internationally acclaimed dance teacher and choreographer whose unique style is strongly influenced by his work with the Batsheva Dance Company.After graduation Eldad joined Vertigo Dance Company, directed by Noa Wertheim and Adi Sha'al. In 1998 he joined the Batsheva dance company, where he danced choreography of Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, Sharon Eyal, Paul Norton, Yoshifumi Inao, Yossi Berg and others. In 2007 Eldad began to establish himself as a choreographer and freelance dancer. With his creation “4 of a kind” he won the 1st place and the best dancer award in the International Choreography Contest in Copenhagen (Denmark), 2009. He has been teaching internationally for the Cullberg Ballet Sweden, Batsheva Dance Company Israel, Nurnberg Dance Company, Germany, SEAD Salzburg, Austria, K3 Hamburg,Germany, Dansens Hus Denmark, Jerusalem Dance Academy, Israel, Tanzquartier, Vienna, Austria, Amsterdam Academy of Dance Holland and many more.Eldad will lead two sessions introducing his own technique: Memory.in.Formation and repertoire from his own choreographic works.This is the first time Eldad Ben Sasson is teaching in the UK.Detailed information here:
