All patients of the Dartmouth Medical Practice are invited to the Annual Meeting of the Dartmouth area Patients Group to be held on 6th June at 6.00 pm Townstal Community Hall to exchange views on the local provision of health care.
The meeting will discuss in particular:
- Progress and issues arising in implementing plans to establish a new health complex at River View in Townstal. This will provide 6 beds for intermediate and end of life care, a new modern surgery for the GP Practice with basic minor injuries care, a Health and Wellbeing Centre that will accommodate community health clinics including auditory care and physiotherapy, a rehabilitation gym, and a health and wellbeing team, a pharmacy and a space for Dartmouth Caring.
- Progress in providing greatly enhanced medical, social and end-of-life care for patients at home, including a better staff Rapid Response Team.
- Present some key data on the operations of the Dartmouth Medical Practice.
The meeting will discuss a report on the activities of the Patients Participation Group which works with the Dartmouth Medical Practice to improve local health care. The PPG also represents Dartmouth area patients in meetings with local NHS managers to discuss ways to improve the provision of health care. The PPG exists to represent you all so it is important for patients to participate in this meeting to make know their concerns and to elect the Chair, Secretary and members of the PPG to represent them in the coming year.
