Designed to build on connections across the community and within the local Health and Social Care system, this event follows the introductory event DCC held last autumn, where we introduced the place-based/connecting kingsbridge project. This project focuses on connecting local statutory and non-statutory services to support local people in the best way we can – and on identifying gaps in local support for people through gaining a better understanding of their wants and needs.
At the autumn event, we shared information about a range of amazing local initiatives, made lots of great connections, and came away with some really interesting ideas to explore.
At this next event on 23rd May, we hope to feedback on progress, open out the work further to the community in general, invite more local people to become involved, and join up with local projects in concrete ways. As part of this, different community organisations will be giving a series of presentations and discussions, including:
- Connecting Kingsbridge Project
- Compassionate and My Future care and end of life plan
- Activities 115 and Positive people projects in Kingsbridge
- Reaching for Independence Service
- Funding opportunities and support programmes for community organisations and Providers
If you have a local project that meets these themes and want people to hear about it, please let us know end of April There will be space for information stands on the day.
As well as the presentations, there will be information specifically for community organisations and health and social care providers on how to get funding to support your project. A representative from business information point will be on hand to talk through the opportunities available to you and can offer 30-minute private slots to support you with the application process.
If you’re interested in applying for funding to establish a new group, event, or service locally, please get in touch in advance of the event to book a time. There may be some availability on the day, but they’re likely to fill up fast, so this is not guaranteed.
We will be offering tea, coffee and cake too!
Please email: adultsc.place-basedapproach-mailbox@devon.gov.uk for further information or to book your 30min slot for funding advice.
