Balsam Bashing

Max numbers: Max: 10 - No min number
Come and explore how the nature reserve is managed with our Ranger and learn the importance of its habitats to the wildlife that lives here. Then get hands on with some conversation tasks to help our wildlife have some where great to live. Himalayan balsam is an invasive species that swamps the areas in which it lives. Its seeds spread very easily in river valleys and doesn’t allow our native plants to grow. Each year we have sessions to pull these plants out, which gradually reduces the number of plants going to seed. Every extra pair of hands is gratefully received.
