Washed out in 2015 but certainly not washed up!
2015 was a washout, before the Torbay Old Wheels Riviera Classic Car Show could even start, the safety officer and organisers had to call a halt to proceedings to protect both the wonderful old cars and the general public. There was just too much water running across the field and cars could not drive in it or people walk it without being bogged down; so for the first time in its history the show was beaten by the weather.
Undaunted Torbay Old Wheels Club has bounced back and this year we will be showing two stars of small and silver screen. We have one of the original Volvo P1800s from the TV series “The Saint” starring Roger Moore and a replica of the Delorean DMC-12 “Time Machine” from the ever popular Back to the Future trilogy starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd as Marty McFly and Doc Emmet Brown.
Also on show will be cars from almost every decade since the 1920s and many that will evoke misty-eyed memories of long forgotten journeys on holiday or out for that Sunday drive with the family; not forgetting some classic motorcycles and even some commercial vehicles for the more agricultural at heart.
Also expected are American classics such as Cadillacs, Ford Mustangs, Pontiacs and big Chevys, exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis and custom cars and bikes.
Come along to Paignton Green on Sunday the 24th July 2016 for a day of nostalgia, petrol fumes and paintjobs. Don’t forget your picnic and camera!
Gates open from 10am. Entry by £2.00 min donation and proceeds going to Torbay Carnival.
