Ten years on and The Seahorse in Dartmouth, considered an institution by many, is growing. The restaurant added Joe’s Bar last year, a haven for pre and post dinner drinks and its reknowned Joe’s gin, to be distilled outside the restaurant annually. Now the restaurant has opened the Cantina, a private dining room in one of the adjacent rooms to the bar with rich walnut panelling and furniture which has an instant feel of celebration.
Seating up to 14, guests can tailor their complete experience with menu choices and wines. It’s a new space adding to Dartmouth’s great locations for local’s and visitor’s parties, birthdays, meetings and celebrations.
Mitch says, “The idea really evolved, we saw an opportunity to take over the space and originally thought it would be a wine room, where our fine wines could be stored and we might run a wine club. We then thought it would be good to dine amongst the wines and have an event space where guests can have celebration lunches and dinners tailored to exactly what they want by choosing their whole experience on line. I love how things change organically!”.
