DART SAILABILITY
Exists to encourage anyone with a disability to take part and enjoy the sport of sailing on the river Dart. Purpose built boats, which can be adapted to meet the needs of individual sailors are available to enable disabled people to get afloat. We are based on the Kingswear side. Dartmouth Caring
We are a local charity committed to helping the elderly and vulnerable of Dartmouth, Dittisham, Stoke Fleming, Blackawton and Strete.
We liaise closely with the care services, medical professionals and any family to ensure we help people remain independent in times of need. The services that we offer include support and advice, specific needs assistance, benefits and forms assistance, transport for medical appointments, a Wednesday Lunch Club, a Thursday Drop In at the Community Café, befriending, outings, shopping for the house bound, gardening, prescription order and delivery, carer’s support, and counselling.
Our monthly support groups are social and informative; there is the Memory Café, the Parkinson’s Café and our Visually Impaired Reading Group. If you need our help or wish to come along to anything please do not hesitate to contact us. We are also always seeking volunteers to help in any capacity and our drivers are reimbursed at 45p per mile.
