The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a wonderful organisation giving so many opportunities for social interaction, to learn new skills and to study topics both familiar and challenging. Dart Valley U3A is open to anyone in their tertiary years with time on their hands. Members are the teachers but also the learners, there being no distinction between them – there are no exams, just the reward of discovery.
On the second Thursday of the month, at 10.00 a.m. in the Flavel, Dartmouth, there is coffee followed by a talk of general interest by a visiting speaker. Groups meet regularly with subjects ranging from Classical History Studies to Wine Tasting and Zumba. Full details can be found on our website http://u3asites.org.uk/code/u3asite.php?site=240
Dart Valley U3A has over 370 members. Membership costs £10 a year, the monthly meeting £2 which includes refreshments, and Groups charge only to cover costs. Contact our Membership Secretary Vince Flanagan 01803 832449 / vince.flanagan@btinternet.com or just turn up to the next monthly meeting (see above).
