Berry Pomeroy Castle
Situated near Totnes, Berry Pomeroy Castle, a Tudor mansion within the walls of an earlier castle was built in the late 15th century by the Pomeroy family.
Its successor the great Elizabethan mansion of the Seymours was never completed leaving the mansion in ruins for over a hundred years. In the 19th century the castle became celebrated as a ghostly ruin which continues today as a popular destination for ghoulish stories in the audio tour.
