The first stage of extensive refurbishment and improvement works at Dartmouth Leisure Centre are now complete and open to members, including a new extension and 35m2 poolside viewing area. Making a major commitment in improving local leisure facilities, Fusion Lifestyle, the UK’s leading sport and leisure charity, is inviting members to visit the improved leisure centre to see some of the exciting changes.
Marking a major investment of over £170,000, the building works at Dartmouth Leisure Centre commenced in September 2017. The series of extensive refurbishments were designed to significantly improve and modernise the leisure centre, ensuring that high quality facilities are accessible to all within the local area.
The main change is the creation of an extension, which links the main entrance to Dartmouth Indoor Pool, making it easier for members to navigate throughout the centre. A refurbished reception area, as well as new poolside seating and viewing space are also just some of the exciting improvements now open to members.
The works form part of a multi-million-pound investment from Fusion Lifestyle, South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council in improving five Devon leisure centres. Along with Dartmouth Leisure Centre, and as part of a three-year programme, other locations set to benefit from significant improvements include; Meadowlands Leisure Centre (Tavistock), Ivybridge Leisure Centre, Quayside Leisure Centre (Kingsbridge) and Parklands Leisure Centre (Okehampton).
Fusion Lifestyle is the largest independent charity, operating community sports, fitness and leisure centres across the country, and is known for bringing quality and investment to the facilities it operates. As it is a charity, all its incoming resources are reinvested in improving and developing its services and facilities.
